Small Business Spotlight: Knots N Tangles Crochet Works

Hopefully you are enjoying your wonderful Sunday!

I am coming to you all with a Small Business Spotlight post! I won't take too much of your time...

Knots N Tangles Crochet Works a small booming business in the making. The business belongs to a strong ambitious young woman by the name of, Jada Davis. I was sent an invitation asking if I would like to partake in reviewing some items from the company. I was happy to oblige because I have seen the workmanship of Jada's amazing items, which are not limited to earrings. Jada also crochets beanies, bikinis, and other items.
I also have shared stories and life events with this young woman. I am familiar with her work and felt as though this was a great opportunity to spread some news about Knots N Tangles Crochet Works with you all!

I received 2 pair of handmade crochet earrings from Jada Davis.

Small purple round earrings ($8.50):

Before, I leave my review I wanted to share some of the information I received about Knots N Tangles Crochet Works!

The summer of my 9th grade year was a very rocky one for me. I was removed from my adoptive parents home and placed back into foster care. As I was added back into the system, I lived several places until a home was found for me. In one of those places a woman had taught me how to crochet. In order to crochet you must relax. As I began my first attempt at a blanket, it crumbled up and began to look like a flower. I was too tense. From there I had began to relax. Crocheting became an outlet for me. That was four years ago, and to this very day crocheting relaxes me and is my outlet. Every Piece that I crochet comes from my heart, and has helped me through either an emotional obstacle or has helped me to improve my crocheting skills. ~Jada Davis~

I enjoyed rocking my Knots N Tangles Crochet Works  earrings! I had not worn crochet anything before, so I did have my skepticism about how much I would like the items I would receive. I thought the earrings may be too heavy or not in style...I was WRONG!

The workmanship is beautiful and seamless, there is not a sign of beginning or end and the earrings have their own unique design. What I find to be really surprising is how lightweight these handmade crochet earrings are... I felt as though there wasn't anything in my ears and they weren't irritating or itchy.

Another plus is Jada can custom design the earrings for you. Making each pair special and unique to its owner!!

Review: Victoria's Secret SPORT #SportBraBreakup

Okay....so I had an amazing opportunity from Influenster to test out a Victoria's Secret Sports bra. I received the Victoria's Secret "Knockout" Sports bra approximately 3 weeks ago, you can check out my unboxing here .... The "Knockout" sports bra is available in various sizes, ranging from 32C-DD, 34-36B-DDD, 38C-DD. Amazing! This particular sports bra is built for maximum support and high impact. There are 9 styles ranging from maximum support to medium support; the medium support is available in sizes small - large.

"Plus, every style features ultra-breathable fabric and Body-Wick technology to keep you cool and dry!"  - Victoria's Secret

Opening the box was so exciting and shocking! I was surprised by the stylish front-closure, and zippered front. This is NOT your ordinary sports bra in the least. The bra is comfortable, soft, and very supportive. Normally sports bras I have used, do not have any support for my DD's, I also do not like the Cyclops one titty...lol, so I stopped wearing sports bras.  YOU know exactly what I mean...

The straps are padded for support in this Victoria's Secret "Knockout" Sports bra and this is great for women with larger breasts, because it helps support the larger upper body. The Victoria's Secret Sports bra is definitely a great buy for $59.99, because it can also be used as a regular day to day bra. You would not have to worry about any clumping or squishing, the bra has a smoothing effect, therefore wearing it under your blouse or dress, it would not be detectable.

I hope to see you soon.

Natural Hair Woes

I have been natural for 27 months and 3 days! I remember deciding to go natural and really felt the motivation to just stop relaxing my hair...I was on an online community and was looking at some of these beautiful women share photos of their natural hair and actually seeing...like really seeing Brown Women with healthy, thick, long hair. I was impressed and shocked all at the same time.
I wanted that...
The decision to not apply another relaxer to my hair wasn't hard. Actually I had gone months without relaxers in the past...I just did not know how to properly care for my two textures, so I would just go back and relax it again.

But, this time around I discovered Youtube and Jenell (founder of kinkycurlycoilyme). I did not know brown people could achieve the results she had. I was in awe of her confidence, her personality, and of course her head full of thick, healthy, long hair. I watched her videos all night and morning! I had become convinced...I too would have hair like hers.

Fast forward to today...I can actual say I am over the "Natural hair hype," now don't get me wrong I love my Natural and do not regret it at all. But the hype around how great natural hair is, can blind you to the downfalls or setbacks (depends on your perspective).

At 2 years natural it takes me approx. 2 hours just to finger detangle my hair. If I decide to use a tool like a wide tooth comb in combination with my Tangle Teezer, it will take approx. 1 and half hours. In order to style my hair, I need loads of water, and softening products (helps with manageability). Single strand knots are the devil reincarnated...lol...but No seriously!!
Styling is no easy task, especially if you have to work or get out the door in a hurry. I usually will have my hair in twists pined up or pulled into a ponytail (YAAASSS...I can achieve a pony baaaby)!!
I wear my twists in for a week or week and a half, then I will either retwist or wear a twist-out.

I have to a point in my natural hair journey, where I am comfortable with not following a ritual or schedule. I don't knock myself for not...uh-oh DARE I SAY IT (well you know type it..lol) sleep without my BONNET or not moisturize every other day. Nope...I follow my hairs needs and I use my common sense. An example, I have my hair in twists for a week and my roots are dry or my ends seem frizzy. This means I need to moisturize.

I also don't oil my scalp as much as I did in the past, because of buildup. My scalp produces enough oil, therefore I only need oil to seal and for treatments. Sometimes I will oil my scalp if it feels dry.

I will forever be thankful to having a community that accepts me and supports me. I will always rock my Natural!

#JollyVoxBox #Influenster

Hello Lovelies!!!

I participate in a program which sends products to people like me or YOU for FREE. I use the items, and then share my opinion and photos of the items. I enjoy this Influenster program because it gives me a chance to try NEW, innovative, and free products. I am able to be 100% honest about my review of all products and I also have the chance to win more prizes, as long as I complete various tasks.

I qualified for the #JollyVoxBox and received the box in December. I was really excited about this box, because there were make-up items and sweet treats for me and my children. I also like the odd items which come in the boxes and turn out to really be helpful. In this box I received the following items:

NYC #HDColorTrio

Skinny Cow Candy (These were AMAZING)

Puffs plus lotion tissues
Ducklings Mini rolls (splash design)
Rimmel London Lip Lacquer (color: Stargazer)

This #JollyVoxBox was one of my favorite boxes to have had the opportunity to participate. I encourage you to find out more about this program, HERE.
